So Sick....

We had such plans for this weekend. Well, to no avail. Owen started throwing up and yesterday was spent on the couch, with his trusty bowl beside him. He wasn't even kept water down. Anyway, we've been up all night, and he is still throwing up water. I've decided to use the last bottle of ginger beer that I have. (I'm going to need to get more of that, Lisa!) So far, so good...but ask me again in about 15 minutes. It's 4:36am, (I've been up since...well....all night,) and our whole household is wiped out!

Pell Greenhouses

Owen and I went on a field trip to Pell Greenhouses, in Hudsonville this morning. Perfect for the 1st day of spring, I thought. We had a tour guide take us around, showing us flowers, and discussing the parts of the flower, and how some plants need a cool, dry, dark place to stay until they bloom, like tulips. They even showed us a room where our guide closed up the ceiling tarps and sides, to mimic nighttime. We got a snack halfway through of juice and cookies, and we also were able to choose a plant and put it in it's own pot to take home. Owen had a great time. He interrupted the guide to say, "I think these flowers are beautiful." It was a lot of walking around, though, with wet puddles inside. And it might have been a bit long for a 4.5 year old, like Owen. He had his friend, Patrick, thankfully, to keep him company.

Under the Sea....

Owen and I were invited to go to our 1ST 3D IMAX Theater picture ever. We watched "Under the Sea," narrated by Jim Carrey. It was amazing. We both loved it. You really felt like you were there, in the sea, looking at all the lifeforms. You had to wear these plastic glasses, with one lense red, and the other green. The glasses did not fold up, and they kept falling off my head. LOL. Lots of children were reaching out their hands to try and touch what appeared to be right in front of them. Owen only got a little scared when they showed the shark coming. Afterwards, they let us go behind, where the film is set up to go. It's like several different wheels, horizontally, not vertically. They run two films at a time to produce the overlap that makes the picture "jump" out at you. Then the man came out of the room that you could see through, and gave each child a piece of other films. Owen's was a couple shots from "The Lion King." Very neat to have. Here you see him with a 3D book we have at home, with him wearing paper glasses, and then the two film strips he got today.

Vacationing at the Beerbowers...

Owen and I went to Aunt Lisa's and Uncle Bruce's house for vacation this past weekend. It started Thursday night for me....as daddy took Owen to the Children's Museum downtown, while I did laundry and packed. "Phew." Thank you, Daddy! :) Then we packed the car up and left Friday morning. As soon as we got there, we shipped off to see the house and land they want to move to. Then we visited a friend of Aunt Lisa's. Then we went to another friend's house to get a few items. Home again. Here are some pictures of our stay. Some things not pictured are playing in the sandbox, making cottage cheese, watching "Wall-E," and playing trains and dominoes all day. LOL. We had a ton of fun. Also, curiously missing, are pictures of my nieces, Heather and Melissa...something we'll fix next visit. lol. We came home Tuesday afternoon. Owen slept half the way home.
