Working In The Yard...

We went outside to work on the yard. It's supposed to rain this afternoon, so Charlie headed out and raked up leaves and such. Meanwhile, Owen joined our back yard neighbor, Miss Diane. He held the branches back on one of her trees so she could get to the leaves underneath. Owen loves to help, and it's good that Miss Diane is so patient, and fun at the same time. Owen ran around her back yard with a tiny rake to pull up some old cut grass. Now....do you think he will be excited to help us in our yard too? lol

Here is trusty Charlie, clipping and cleaning things up. It looks great in our backyard already!

Sidewalk Chalk!

Owen wanted to draw with his sidewalk chalk the other day.
First there is a train, of course.

Then there was the whole alphabet.

Having a fun time.

The train, closer up.

And this is a "Cardinal, Mom."

April Home Depot Project: Butterfly Box

We have to clean the inside of the box. Then, add bananas or banana peels. It will be neat to watch and see if butterflies really come.

Trinity Art Work!

This week for WOW, Owen's group of children were asked to bring in an art project depicting what they've learned about the Trinity. Owen's picture is the one with a blue glitter cross. He also used green feathers for the hill, and macaroni and Cheerios for other hills. He was able to share, using a microphone (how fun is that for a kid?), that his artwork meant that Jesus died on the cross, and took our sins away. I love how the weekly clip was able to capture all the artwork. Take a peek.

Fun With Friends.

My friend and her two children came over to visit Owen and me. We had lunch, took a walk outside, and had a fun time with toys.

Look What I Found In Our Backyard!

A mama duck got up from her nest of 3 eggs, and moved away when she saw me coming. I had NO idea they were there until she moved. She went off, and hasn't returned yet, so I don't know if they are going to survive. But, I'm keeping Owen away from them, so that they have a chance. What am I going to do with 3 baby ducks? They take up to 28 days to incubate, and then 50 more days to learn how to fly.

Easter Egg Hunt!

Welcome to the Egg Hunt at Calvary Undenominational!

They hid 10,000 plastic eggs filled with candy and stickers.

Holding his bag and getting ready.

It was a little bit cold outside. Can you see his little red nose?

Happy to be here.

Waiting with other children.

On your mark, get set, GO!

Each child was allowed 10 eggs!

Excited to come show me his bag of eggs.

They filled his bag.

Look at the loot, Mom!

Owen also won a Veggie Tale DVD. He was one of four children out of 1,000 who won! (We like what the story is about. lol)
