Matching Jam Jams!

Well, Aunt Lisa gave me some train material, and I made matching p-jays for Owen and his buddy, Zach. I just have the button holes and buttons to put on them, and they are finished. Then, it's "ALL ABOARD!" LOL. Maybe I'll get a picture of them wearing them to add to this post soon. Hee Hee.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

Owen had such a great time at Home Depot this morning! Every 1st Saturday of the month from 9am-11am, they offer FREE building projects for little people. Hee Hee. And it changes from month to month, so we will be doing this regularly. Daddy took him this morning. Charlie said on his way out..."This is a daddy/son thing." LOL. So, while they were out bonding....I got an hour to myself. YEA! This month, they made a Catamaran Boat. They use REAL materials...wood, wood glue, nails, etc. And use REAL tools. You can see the free apron they gave him, and it has a special pin for this particular project. They can get new pins for each new project. They also get a certificate, and a copy of the directions on how they made the project to take home. AND, did I mention, the kits are totally FREE?!?!?! WOW!!! HOW COOL IS THAT??? He came home so proud of himself. Thank you, HOME DEPOT!!! Check out one near you!

Here's a few pictures of our flowers next to the house. Some of these daddy planted a few years ago, but some have always been there, like the Rhododendron.

Grandpa Wager and Miss Betty

Grandpa Wager and Miss Betty came up to join us for Memorial Day! We also invited Miss Lesley, Mr. Nathan, Zach, and Mitchell to come too. We grilled out with steak, hamburgers, hotdogs, and had potatoe salad and baked beans. Miss Betty brought a yummy pistaschio pudding treat, and Miss Lesley brought some strawberry topping with ready cool whip to add to our butter cake with chocolate syrup, and ice cream! Boy were we stuffed. It was a really nice day, even though it was supposed to rain...it didn't. :)

Daddy's Surgery...

Just wanted to update family and friends about Charlie's surgery yesterday. He had septoplasty and turbinate surgery on his nose. We got to the hospital at 8am, and we were home by 1:30pm. He did WONDERFULLY through through surgery, and the recovery period. So far, (knock on wood), he doesn't have bruising anywhere I can see. He told me immediately that he could breathe better than he ever has, and that's with SPLINTS IN! :) Now at home, his only problem is the blood oozing when he gets up from a sitting position, the pressure trying to equalize. He's wearing plenty of gause under his nose, but the nose itself is not packed. He didn't take any pain meds after getting home. He's a tough guy, my husband. LOL. It's fun to be at his disposal...which I might add, hasn't been difficult for him at all. LOL. I had to run tons on erands, like getting the prescriptions filled, getting lunch, getting his movies, picking up Owen, going to Target for "bendy straws" of all things....so he could drink his H2O without having to sit up. LOL. So, he's sleeping, taking his anti infection meds, sleeping, drinking water, peeing, sleeping, peeing, and watching the Muppets, season 3 (I have no interest in this, but he LOVES it.) Where's the rolling eye icon when I need it? LOL. Oh well, as long as he's happy. I can't wait to see how this will help him at night with his breathing. Maybe he won't snore as much, or need his c-pap machine as much. Just dreaming. Hee hee
One thing that I really appreciated was that we were able to go to the new Metro Hospital in our area. It's only about 10-15 minutes away from home, and they have this cool set up. I mean, the waiting room was only a few yards from the recovery room. And the Cafe was only outside the doors to the waiting room. Everything was really close. Also, they have a pager system now. So, I carried around this little device and it beeped when they wanted me. I was able to go all over the hospital with it. Also, they gave me a case # for Charlie that I could track throughout the process when I wasn't with him. It showed up on a screen in the waiting room, like your flights would at an airport. I knew when he was in the OR, when he was finishing up in the OR, the 1st recovery room, and then the second. It would have especially been cool if they had his case number correct! LOL. It took a while before I went to the desk and asked why I couldn't see his number up there....they had written it down wrong by one digit on my paper. LOL.
Well, THANKS so much for all your prayers and positive thoughts, people. We felt pretty good about it all yesterday.

Playing the Piano....

Monday, Owen and I had some of his friends over. Zachary and Mitchell. They decided to play the piano together. It was really cute. I did get a tiny clip of it, so check it out!

Fun in Holland, at the Tulip Festival

We had tons of fun in Holland, this past Sunday. After church we took the drive out (only a half hour), and drove down all the lanes in the city that have tulips growing on either side of the road. There is actually a trolly that can do this also. Then we stopped at the art fair, and walked around there, getting Owen's tulip pictures in. Then we went to what is called Kinderplatz. It's a mini fair of sorts for kiddos. He jumped in the big ball blow up, slid down the blow up slide, ate some popcorn, met some animals, crawled through some blow up cars, sat in a train and rang it's bell over and over, and lots of other stuff. He really enjoyed the day! Found out at the builder station, that Home Depot puts on FREE building projects for kiddos every Saturday from 9am -11am. And they get a free oranage apron. So, we will probably be checking that out. LOL.
