No pictures....

I feel dull and boring. LOL. We went to a Magic Show at the libary this afternoon. Owen loved it, but I didn't bring my camera. There was a man from the press there taking pictures, but he didn't get any of Owen. One trick she did was really interesting. She had this circle painted white and black, curving from the center out to the rim. While she rotated it for 30 seconds, you watched the center of it, then you looked at the nose on a volunteer from the audience, already seated. She did it three times. Once it made the volunteer's head get tinier, and the next time, it got bigger. It was soooh weird. I dont' think Owen focused enough to get it, but I did.
Now, I don't know what to do for the rest of August. The library things are pretty much done till the 2nd week in September. We are going to visit some friends next week, down in Indiana. AND I am planning a pool party for moms and kids from my mom's group locally, here. Can anyone share what they did so far for the summer?

Vegging Out with Micah and Danny!

Okay, this is what happens when you've just gotten home from playing hard at the park, and then you are forced to watch, "Charlotte's Web." LOL. Actually, I didn't force them. It was just entertaining, I guess. I thought they were going to fall asleep....but it did help me get their fish stick lunches ready. LOL.

Train Buddies :)

Owen, just hanging out on the couch "Round house" with his best bud, Zachary. Eatin' popcorn, and watching "Kipper The Dog." The best of days.

Animal Cracker Day at the Library

This past Wednesday, we went to the "Animal Cracker" day at the library. They set up a little area outside, with some interesting animals to see, touch, and just investigate. It was really fun. Owen didn't want to touch the hedgehog at first, as it looks like a porcupine, and he thought it would poke him. hee hee. You can see Miss Tisch, the children's librarian in one pictures. I had exactly 3 quarters, and so Owen was able to feed the animals 3 times. But, it was very hot outside...probably 88 degrees. So, after a while, we got back into the airconditioning of the car. :)

4 Year Appointment!

Here's Dr. Kruggel with Owen. She's such a wonderful pediatrician! She takes time to answer all my questions, and is really careful with all her observations, and Owen really likes her. He is 35lbs, which puts him in the 50% for weight. And he is 42" tall, which puts him at the 90% for height. YUP! YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT! WOW! I was shocked too. LOL. I guess that is good, though. He has a spot on his back, that looks like some of mine, but Dr. Kruggel was not concerned. Only if it gets fainter and looks like it is being absorbed into the skin. Or if it grows quicker and bigger than along with his normal growth.
Owen was such a trooper this trip, as he had to get 4 shots. OUCHY! But, I asked for two nurses, and they had me hold him with his arms crossed, and my legs crossed around his legs. I felt like I was straight jacketing him. :( They did 2 sets of 2 shots. But one came out half done due to him jerking (not on purpose.) So, she had to get another needle and give him the rest of that one. :( Owen cried really hard, but he knew it was for the better. And he actually said "Thank You," to the nurses. He got a sucker out of that one too. NO more shots until he is 12. By then, I think he'll be able to take it better. "Phew."

Garden Pleasures....

Just wanted to share some of the flowers from our garden. Charlie made a trellis for me, for my climbing roses. And this is the first year for the yellow roses.

Home Depot #2: Birdhouse

Owen and daddy enjoyed putting together a birdhouse yesterday. It was much tougher than the boat from last month. But, Owen wants to keep coming back, and getting pins for his apron. LOL. He doesn't quite have the strength, yet, to hold the hammer by one hand, so daddy had to help with that from time to time. It was fun to watch. When we got home, Charlie made a wooden post and attached the house. It's standing in the back yard, hopefully sheltering some lucky bird. LOL.
