Pooh's Corner...

We had lots of fun, this morning, at Pooh's Corner. They had a special storytime with the books of "Dog and Bear," by Laura Vaccaro Seeger. They even had a color page and a "Doggie Bag," to take home. Owen got to put his name in a drawing for the stuffed "Dog" or "Bear." I also found one of his favorite "Mr. Putter" books called "Mr. Putter & Tabby Feed The Fish," by Cynthia Rylant. It's about a cat that can't say away from fish. Owen and I laugh and laugh at this book. So, now he has one more book in his collection of 834. LOL. Can one love books too much?

Memorial Day at Grandpa Wager's House

We just had a very relaxing morning/afternoon with Grandpa Wager. Charlie and Owen joined him fishing off the dock and in his pontoon, parked there. It just so happens that David and his girlfriend, Abby, were there too. They are planning on getting married in 2011, after they finish school. It was fun to visit with them.

A Visit From My College Friend.

I was really pleased to be able to spend some time with my college friend, Sue Silengo. She and her daughter, Kaity came and had pizza, and ice cream with strawberries on top with us. Owen and Kaity got along super well. They were too cute talking about Jesus, boyfriends, and playing a Word Girl card game. We had a wonderful time, but the kids got pretty tired. Owen was in bed by about 9:45pm, almost 2 hours past his bedtime. But, he slept in...so that's the beauty of it. :)
Thanks for the great time, Sue! Hope to come visit you guys sometime soon too. The water park sounded like a winner for Owen. :)

Evidence of Hard Work...

Daddy had Owen help him fix the lawnmower tonight. They had to replace a belt of some sort...don't ask me. lol But, I could hear daddy telling Owen..."This is a ratchet..." They came in about a half hour later with grimey oil all over their hands and um...well faces too. lol

Do You Know What This Is????

Well, I sure didn't. I had to ask Owen. Usually, he just likes to glue things together for the fun and feel of it. lol. He told me, when it was dry, that it is a pencil holder. So, he got a few pens and pencils, and put them into it. Beautiful! :) Later he comments, "I think we need to cut the top off." Ya think? Hee Hee

INCH Convention

Here are some pictures of Jeannette Meyer, Lisa (my sister), and myself (Janet). We stayed at the Baymont Inn, for the INCH Convention. I think we all were very tired afterwards. But, we had perfect timing on getting there both days, and got right into lots of classes. My favorite class was called, "When Socialization IS an issue." The speaker had wonderful examples and ideas for increasing appropriate interaction between children and other people of all ages. And she had handouts, and resources listed, and links, etc. And she was very interesting to listen to. I went to all the classes I wanted to go to, and spent one class time in the booths. There I bought several books, easy workbooks for Science and Geography, and story paper, grid paper, etc. All the kinds of things you find at a teacher convention were there. I did happen to notice a couple of places I was familiar with. Great Lakes Christian College was there. Rock Lake Christian Assembly....where I saw a picture of a week of camp with Rich Mullins and Me....and my sibblings Julie, Tim, and Phillip. Cool. Then I went by a "Bible Bowl" table, where a lady recogized me. She knew my name, my birth order, and that we got 6th in the nation once. I believe she said she was the sponsor to the Algonac teams? Not sure. Anyway, then another lady who had a booth for books she made concerning character quality, recogized us too for Bible Bowl. Then, of course, the homeschool building has it's own booth. It's a small world after all.
Here we are, right after checking out of the hotel...

A kind man in the lobby took these for us...

Lisa, packing up her suitcase...

Lisa, eating breakfast....She had issues with the waffle maker....ask her about it sometime...lol

Mother's Day with Charlie's Family

Charlie's parents called and said they were going to be in the area. So, they took us out to "Arnies," to eat. Happy Mother's Day! :)

Just Blowing Bubbles

Aunt Zee Zee gave Owen this long wand with it's own bubble container, back at Easter. Owen had lots of fun with it, but then daddy showed him how to open the wand wide, and blow large bubbles. Fun, but Owen spilled half the solution about three times. lol. "Sigh."

This Is My Daddy!

I couldn't get the orientation of this corrected in the second view....but I thought this was cute. I like how there is a belly button "dot," and that daddy has 4 toes on one leg, and 3 on another. Hands complete with 5 fingers each. TINY HEAD! ha ha ha....

Tulip Time!

We decided to drive to Holland, and follow their tulip route. Then we stopped at the "Art Fair," and purchased a few dip mixes. Owen was happy, since he got some carmel corn, and a red snow cone! It turned out to be a beautiful day!
