Playdough Days

Owen spent over three hours playing with playdough the other day! We started out using it to shape the letter Gg, and the number 8. But, it was fresh dough, so he just had a ball making a "forest" of trees. Fun, huh?

Dad's House and Other Scenery

Fishing at Grandpa's House

Ever heard of lazy lobster? Well, that's when they take the lobster out of it's shell for you, so you don't have to. Fishing today was wonderful like that. I hate slimy stuff. (All the boys loved it, of course.) But, Grandpa Wager put the worms on for me, and when I got my one and only fish, I was satisfied. I spent most of the time taking pictures. Owen caught the most fish, (6), followed by daddy with 5, and me with the one. It was only about 50 some degrees out, but that actually was fine with the sun out. What fun we had.

Blueberry Cobbler

Are you salivating yet??? Owen helped me make this blueberry cobbler today. He was pretty good at getting most of the ingredients into the pan. LOL. Oh my, was it delicious. Owen says, "Dad, I make a mean cobbler, don't I?" I thought I'd better get a picture of it, before it all disappeared.

S & S Farms (Pumpkin Patch)

We went to S & S Farms today. Owen isn't running a temp, so he really needed to get out of the house. We stayed there over two hours. We did the hayride, and they stopped 4 times on the trip to get things from the fields to show the kids. The last stop was free raspberry picking for a few minutes. Yum. We went back and picked two pounds of them. One thing kind of scary for Owen was when he went into the blow up farm. He was actually having a ton of fun, and did it three times, before the power went off in the whole area, and it collapsed with him inside. YIKES! He was okay, though. Owen also loved scooping the feed corn in the cornbox. It was hard to get him out of it. We had to lure him with the idea of doughnuts and cider. YUM. In case you're wondering, we DID each get a pumpkin. Little ones that also will double for cooking pies. YUM AGAIN!

Owen is sick....:(

Owen is sick. :( He's been sporting a fever between 101 to 102 degrees the last couple of days. And he is "croupy." He thinks it's because he had "too much fun" at his friend's birthday party this past Tuesday outside. LOL. I think over all, that outside has been full of germs and things, as we get more of this rainy, cold/warm, weather, that can't make up it's mind. So, we are just inside, resting, reading books, watching movies, and such. He isn't eating much either. But, getting plenty of fluids. I hope he feels better soon.

A Lovely Day...

Sunday, we went up to Saginaw to visit Charlie's Grandpa. On the way home, we stopped at my sister, Lisa's house. We ended up at her friends house, because there was a yearly shin dig about making your own apple cider there. And, there were tons of people, and FOOD! Chili, doughnuts, cider, vegetables, cheeses, meats, chips, tons of desserts, etc. They live on a piece of land that has a barn for cats, and lots of playground fun for the kids she watches. And it was especially fun, because we got to see Uncle Phillip too! We had lots of fun. Owen slept almost the entire way home, he was so tired out.

Painting....

Here goes...I'm working on a sunflower picture, in watercolor. Daddy took Owen out of the house for a while, and I was able to get quite a bit done. :) I'm donating it as a gift for the guest speaker of the "Out Came the Sun," March on October 25th. It's a March put on by "Mom's Bloom," an organization that is dedicated to educating people about Post Partum Depression. Volunteers visit with new moms and their families to help just take the edge off....like doing dishes, making a meal there, holding the baby, helping with nursing, sharing ideas with the family on how to help mom and baby, letting mom get a nap, bathing the baby, etc. I'll take another picture when I have it finished. But, at least I have a head start on it.
And the finished product in two different lightings...

And with requested changes to make the flower "pop" more...

Home Depot #5: Fire Engine

Today, Home Depot's workshop was outside! Owen made a fire engine, complete with a whistle. (Apparently, his isn't sounding....but it's still cute on top of the fire engine.)
