"Sigh." Owen & Mommy

Extended family can be really fun. But, there's just something "Beautiful" about taking things down a notch to your own little family. Comforting, simple, wonderful. Thank you Owen, for being such an amazing little boy, and for being mine. I LOVE you. Mommy.

Christmas in Midland...

What fun we had in Midland! We had a terrific Christmas meal of Lamb, Cranberry Relish, Green Beans, Sweet Potatoe Casserole, and Sparkling Grape Juice. YUMMO! Plus, snacks like chips and sour cream, and gingerbread and butter cookies. I've never been soooh stuffed in my life. LOL. Mostly, though, the time with family there was soooh pleasant, fun, and relaxed. Some things we did: Play in the snow, put a puzzle together, playdough, K-zooing, eating, snacking, taking pictures, and watch a movie. All in ONE day! LOL.
Here is Uncle Phillip being silly with his girls, Katie, and Eliza. He got them these cool hats for Christmas, which they had tons of fun wearing.

Christmas in Saginaw...

We visited Great Grandma Andrews. She showed us her new furniture and we got to meet Mr. Loy. She got Owen two videos for Christmas: "Thomas get's Bumped," and a Veggie Tale. Kisses to you, Great Grandma.

Uncle Mike got Owen a book called, "The Little Red Engine." He LOVED it! And he got Owen a pair of race track p-jays for the summer. Thanks, Uncle Mike!

Here are all Owen's cousins + Sarah (Robert's girlfriend). They were wearing the crowns from our "Pop" toys. Owen's was too big for his head, as you can see. LOL. Aunt ZZ and Uncle Clint got Owen a special color book that has pages of plastic plates with raised surfaces. So, he can rub crayons on top of them, and get a really cool picture. Thanks, Aunt ZZ and Uncle Clint!

Opening presents with Daddy on the couch by Grandma Andrews. :) Grandma and Grandpa got him a box of puzzles, and a bat (glow in the dark) Tee-shirt! Fun!

Grandma D. was soooh sweet. She had sent Owen a card with a $1.00 bill in it to our house, but she still had a bag of pennies for Owen. Plus, we took home some snowman decorations that sing from Hallmark. Thanks, Grandma D. I had fun guessing her homemade song cards too. They were too cool!

Robert and girlfriend, Sarah, who was such a delight to meet.

Christmas at home....

We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve, so that we could travel later in the day to Grandparents. Owen loved his presents, and was very happy. We ate our Chocolate Peppermint scones, and our Egg casserole for breakfast. It had bacon, potatoes, cheese, and egg in it. YUMMO! Plus my homemade hot cocoa recipe. Then it was packing up the car. Fortunately, the roads were not bad going or coming from Saginaw.

Christmas with Grandma Carol

WE had such a fun and relaxing time at Grandma Carol's. She makes Christmas such a special time. I always know that she takes special care in picking things out, down to the smallest detail. She gave Owen three books to read, a horse colorbook, a wooden train craft, and the biggy....a whole art set! Owen was soooh excited. And when Daddy came home, he said, "Daddy, Look at all the cool things Grandma Carol got me." It really made his day. Thanks, Grandma Carol!!! We LOVE YOU!!!

Movie Time with Friends

We had Miss Libby, Micah, Danny, Miss Darcy, and Melissa over today for popcorn, hot cocoa, and a movie. We watched, "Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer." Fun, fun, for everyone.

From the Comfort of the Laundry Basket

Apparently, watching TV is much more comfortable from the laundry basket. LOL.

I Miss You, Daddy!

This is a treasure that I will keep forever. Daddy has been gone in Tobago, Trinidad since last Thursday, and just got back last night. But, Owen decided that he wanted to write him a note, for when he returned. I could hear him sounding out words in the kitchen, while I was in the living room. He asked me how to write a certain letter, so I got out our alphabet chart, that we use in homeschool. I just let him go at it. Intrepretation: I miss you. I did. I did. Tobago. We did. Love Owen. I have no idea what the other two letters were for. It get's a little muddy. But, anyway, Owen just HAS to communicate. And that he did it to show his love for daddy, just warms my heart. Now...off to get an acid free envelope of some sort. LOL.

Gingerbread Lane

Last night, despite the icy roads, Owen and I got out to the Library for the "Gingerbread Lane" Event. Miss Tisha read a book called the "Gingerbread Baby," and then we all got to decorate a gingerbread house out of grahm crackers, frosting, and candy. They used small milk boxes to make it easier for the kids to put it together. Owen had a lot of fun, and also wanted to sing and run around. LOL. He got to see both Miss Tisha, and Miss Lynn...two of his most favorite people in the world.

Owen and Grandma Carol

Grandma Carol came over this past week, and we spent a few hours shopping, playing at the mall, and then just chatting. Don't they look happy together?

Fun With Scissors

This is what happens when Mommy goes to take a shower, and the scissors are handy, dandy, available. LOL. I'm just glad he limited it to the paper. LOL.

Santa 2008

Owen loves the fact that Santa is a continuation of St. Nicholas. We've read that bit of history, and he thinks it's GREAT! This is the most interesting year for Owen in this regard. He really has been having fun with the "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" movie, and "Frosty, the Snowman," too. This coming Tuesday, we are having a few friends over to our place for movies, hot cocoa, and popcorn. It's going to be a blast. Just one flare of Christmas that we enjoy.
