DK Orchard

Today we went to DK Orchard, in Conklin, MI. They had YOU PICK apples of several kinds for $4.75 per half bushel! WOW! We picked a bushel each of Mutsu, Ida Reds, and Empire. So, the total was only $30.00. Down the road we stopped by another orchard since they had doughnuts....guess how much their Honey Crisp apples were per 1/2 bushel? $32.00!!!! :O I'm glad we went to DK's. lol Anyhow, it has been raining a lot here, so even when we took the wagon to specific parts of the orchard, there was mud mud mud everywhere in the road...deep and yucky! What a fun experience! lol
So, I'm going to can some applesauce, freeze some apple slices for pies later, and also keep some in the garage just for good eating. YUM!
