Valentine's Day from Daddy!

Daddy made Owen a wonderful treasure hunt. Owen ended up with mixed fruit, which he absolutely LOVES. We make it with an extra jar of maraschino cherries, his favorite.

Valentine's Day Party!

Owen went to his Valentine's Day Party today. We had between 35 and 40 kids, plus all the moms. It was so fun.
Here is the cupcake decorating table, complete with frosting and sprinkles of all kinds.

The candy present craft table.

The heart craft.

Owen's Valentine container that he made at the library this past week.

Starting the heart craft.

Owen didn't want to put hands and feet on his. So, we have rubberbands sticking out, instead. lol

Owen met another "Owen" at the party today.

The candy walk.

Each person got to win twice.

We set up tables to put their Valentine boxes on. Then they walked around and put in their Valentines.

Owen's loot.

Fun in the Snow!

Yesterday, Owen and I went to a friend's house so Owen could "play in the snow" with the children there. Well, I actually stayed inside with my friend and knitted, chatted, and had a great time of fellowship.
Here is Owen getting dressed for going outside.

The week and a half old baby oblivious to all that's going on around him.

The first snow hill. They spent only a few moments on this. Then they went closer to the road where there was a huge mound of snow they had piled up before yesterday. Owen later told me that they played "King of the Mountain." He had to protect the girls from their brothers, and he had to push the boys down. Owen says, "See Mom? I'm not whimpy. I'm strong." lol

One of his friends with rosy cheeks after coming inside.

Another friend ready for some prepared chocolate tea and chocolate chip cookies. YUM!

"Ruff Reader" #2

At Ruff Readers, session 2, Owen read "Henry and Mudge, The First Book," by Cynthia Rylant. We thought it was funny how the book we picked had a dog that looked just like "Kalli" the Bullmastiff Owen was reading to. At first, I thought Kalli looked like the most scary of the dogs he could have picked to read to. But, my perception changed totally once I was around the dog. She was so cute. She wanted to rest her head on Owen and I the whole time we read, and she actually LOOKED at the book when we were reading. What a cuddler.

"Ruff Readers"

Owen was invited to come read to some therapy dogs at the Gaines Township Library on Monday nights in February. We had so much fun. There were 4 dogs, but Owen chose "Sage" to read to. He read, "Mr Putter and Tabby Feed the Fish," by Cynthia Rylant. This is one of his favorite books! Owen thought it was a hoot, and is excited to come back next Monday night. They will offer this again in June, I think the librarian said. We look forward to that.
Here is Miss Sue, the dog's owner....and Sage and Owen.

Sometimes, Sage seemed interested...

And sometimes not...

But, they had a great connection.
